EU Officials Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’
Officials from Europe including the French president accused the US administration of “bullying and threats”, following the visa restrictions targeted figures who have been central to campaigns to introduce laws regulating American tech companies.
“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to coerce US companies to suppress US perspectives they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
