I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
