‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director
Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to express about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without joy".
"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist
In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
This week, a Los Angeles judge agreed to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the local authorities.
A court order placed a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.
The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative statements that were broadly criticized by numerous individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan finished by proposing that an aide could have acted when the impulse to comment on the death was made.
